EPS Starway, first vessel to be supplied LNG by Peninsula Petroleum’s Levante LNG

Vessel Starway, owned by Singapore-based Eastern Pacific Shipping (EPS) became the 1st commercial vessel at anchor at the Port of Gibraltar to receive supply of Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) as a marine fuel from Peninsula Petroleum Ltd’s new purpose-built LNG bunker vessel, Levante LNG,

Turner & Co (Gibraltar) Ltd were honoured to act as agents for the vessel Starway, facilitating a smooth operation and turnaround.

Peninsula’s new state-of-the-art Levante LNG, a purpose-built 12,500m3 LNG bunker vessel, successfully supplied approximately 3,500m3 of LNG to Eastern Pacific Shipping’s (EPS) Suezmax crude oil tanker, the Starway. Further showing Gibraltar’s commitment to providing innovative solutions for sustainable maritime practices.


Nacho de Miguel, Peninsula’s Head of Alternative Fuels & Sustainability, highlighted the significance of pioneering vessels like the Starway and the Greenway, the world’s first LNG-fueled Suezmax tanker. He emphasized their pivotal role in leading the maritime industry towards a lower carbon future. Expressing gratitude, de Miguel stated, “Through our investment in assets like the Levante LNG, we can close the supply chain loop to give these vessels access to lower-carbon fuels in the world’s leading ports. I want to thank EPS for partnering with Peninsula to help power them towards a more sustainable future.”
